ETHNIC STUDIES
TRIBAL RELATIONSThe tribal relations program is developed in realization of the weight of tribal identities in Africa, and the vicious cycle of violence that result from it. This program will pursue the goal of studying the origins and underlying causes of inter-tribal conflicts in specific domains and developing conflict resolution strategies to apply in helping promote peaceful co-existence. The institute will organize discussions in the form of seminars, workshops, and debates that will feature tribal representatives, local government officials, scholars, and politicians.
RACE RELATIONSThis program will pursue the goal of creating a medium solely for the research of race matters, and for the discussion of race and race relations on an international level. The discussions will be organized in the form of seminars, workshops, and debates, and will feature students, scholars, politicians, entertainers, and lay people of all races. The Institute will help circulate articles and citations to salient social science findings that will help promote constructive dialogues about race. We will promote the exploration of issues that are collateral with race relations, including education, economic opportunities, housing, crime, and justice.
CROSS-CULTURAL ACTIVITIESThis program is designed to promote cultural exchanges between African countries and countries in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Under this program, A.I.I aims to work with the embassies of the different countries to create forums in which cultures are showcased, and people of different nationalities are brought together to enjoy the arts, music, and dance of other nations.
